Board of Directors



Karl Khoury - Chairman

Karl is co-founder of Arborview Capital, co-heads the investment team and co-manages the operations of Arborview Capital. Prior to founding Arborview he had twelve years of experience identifying, consummating and managing private equity investments with Columbia Capital, a sector-focused venture capital firm with over $2 billion under management. During that time, he invested in 13 companies with a primary focus on enterprise and communications software, security and managed IT services. Prior to Columbia Capital, Karl worked at J.P. Morgan & Co. in New York and San Francisco where he specialized in corporate finance and capital markets for technology and communications clients.

In addition to the Drexel Metals' board, Karl currently serves on the board of directors of Lighting Retrofit International, Paragon Airheater Technologies and previously served on the boards of nine of the investments that he managed at Columbia Capital. He also currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the Levine School of Music, a leading independent music school based in Washington D.C.

Bob Franco - Board Member 

Bob Franco brings over 35 years of roofing and distribution experience to Drexel Metals. Prior to joining Drexel Metals, Bob served as President of Associated Materials Distribution, a division of AMI. Prior to AMI, Bob had a distinguished sales and marketing career at Ownes Corning, where he served as Vice President – Exterior Systems and Vice President, Marketing of the Residential Roofing Division.

Rob Waite, Vice Chairman

A 27 year veteran of the building materials industry and Rob was the principal invested partner in Drexel Metals LLC prior to the formation of Drexel Metals Inc. In addition to his metal roofing experience, Rob has also been an executive with Metal Sales Manufacturing Corporation, Dietrich Metal Framing, Lafarge Gypsum and Armstrong World Industries.

During his career Rob lived and worked in South America, Canada and Europe where he led joint ventures, formed global strategic partnerships and organized networked supply chains. Additionaly, Rob serves on the Board of Advisors of Solidia Technologies, a Kleiner Perkins Caufeild & Byers Company and on the Advisory Board of Alpine Home Air.

Rob has also authored the internationally acclaimed book The Lost Art of General Management.

Joseph Lipscomb - Board Member

Joe is a founder of Arborview Capital, co-heads the investment team and co-manages the operations of the firm. Prior to founding Arborview Capital, he had nine years experience identifying, consummating and managing private equity investments, first as a managing director at the Carlyle Group and then with the Maryland-based firm, Global Environment Fund. He has a long track record of working closely with high quality management teams to build successful, leading companies in high growth sectors. Prior to that, Joe had a nine year career at BT Alex Brown and First Boston, providing financing and advisory services to growth companies.  Joe currently serves on the boards of directors of Lighting Retrofit International, Paragon Airheater Technologies, and Drexel Metals and previously served as a board member of numerous companies, both private and public. He also currently is the Chairman of the Board of the Nature Conservancy-Washington DC/Maryland Chapter, is a trustee and member of the Investment Committee of Kenyon College and is a member of the advisory board of the School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University (SAIS).

Bart Roggensack - Board Member and Consulting Advisor

Mr. Roggensack brings more than 40 years of experience over a distinguished career spanning various segments of the roofing industry.  During his 33 year career at Johns Manville, Mr. Roggensack was a member of the senior management team that acquired Owens Corning’s Commercial Roofing Group and nine other businesses, creating the largest commercial/industrial roofing company in North America.  As part of his responsibilities with Johns Manville, Mr. Roggensack helped drive operating efficiencies with a specific emphasis on manufacturing systems.  In 2001, he was a member of the senior management team that executed the sale of Johns Manville to Berkshire Hathaway. Following his career at Johns Manville, Mr. Roggensack was the President and CEO of General Roofing, a consolidation of 23 roofing contractor businesses.  Within two years, he successfully restructured General Roofing and sold it to Tecta America, creating the largest roofing contractor company in the U.S. He is the past President of the Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association (ARMA) and was a member of the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) and the Single Ply Roofing Institute (SPRI). As part of Mr. Roggensack’s role on the Board of Directors, he will be providing strategic direction and working to expand Drexel Metals’ Association of Regional Manufacturers (DM-ARM), a value‐added partnership that allows contractors and distributors to achieve higher profit margins while providing a superior quality, weather resistant, energy efficient, and warranty protected Drexel Metals branded metal roofing systems. 

Lex Sant - Board Member

Lex Sant is co-founder and managing director of Persimmon Tree Capital. He is based in Washington, D.C. Prior to founding Persimmon Tree Capital, Mr. Sant worked for five years at the AES Corporation, a leading global power company with electrical generation and distribution business in more than 20 countries. At AES, Mr. Sant was most recently a director in the Alternative Energy group, for which he was responsible for the origination and execution of transactions related to biofuels, wind and other forms of renewable energy. Prior to that position, Mr. Sant had responsibility for large-scale mergers and acquisitions and corporate strategy. Before joining AES, Mr. Sant worked in public relations from 1994 to 2000 for the Carolina Panthers franchise of the National Football League. He is chairman of Island Press, a leading publisher of books on the environment; he is treasurer and trustee of the Summit Foundation; and serves on the executive committee of the board of trustees for the Chesapeake Bay Foundation. 

Mark Gaulin - Board Member

Mr. Gaulin is the founder and former owner of MetFab LLC. Drexel Metals Inc acquired the assets of MetFab in October 2011 and was pleased to offer Mark a board seat as well. Mark Gaulin is a roofing industry veteran. He is the former COO of Tecta America, past president of the National Roofing Contractors Association, president of Tecta Solar and currently also holds a board seat with Tecta America Corp.
