Founded in Trenton, New Jersey in 1985 by Dick and Diane Carroll,
Drexel Metals Corporation has become a leader in the distribution
of painted metal for the roofing, architectural sheet metal,
military and crop storage industries.
Historically a supplier of hot- dipped galvanized and Galvalume®
sheet products to the metal building and component manufacturing
industries, Drexel entered the painted metal market in 1987.
In 1991, Drexel became a leading supplier to the U.S. Military,
providing painted coils for the Automated Arched Building
Systems being extensively used by the military in all regions
of the United States and throughout the world.
In the fall of 1994, Drexel entered the Kynar® painted
coil and flat market. Today, Drexel is a formidable force
in this market with many distribution facilities throughout
the country.
In 1999, Drexel moved to new and larger headquarters, and
additional products were added to enhance Drexel’s position
as a leading supplier to the metal roofing industry. With
the addition of “RoofTopGuard II” ice and water
barrier, as well as fastening systems, sealants, and other
roofing accessories, including the industry’s first
innovative touch- up system, the Drexmet® Paint Pen, Drexel
continued its evolution from a steel distributor to a full
service distributor of metal roofing products.
In 2002, Drexel continued to expand with the introduction
of its first metal panel profile, the Drexmet® 175 Architectural
Snap Lock System. This system currently has a UL 580 rating
as well as Miami- Dade County product approval. This Drexmet®
175 product is sold and installed through Drexel’s “Contractor
of Distinction” program. The program’s participating
contractors are trained and certified to manufacture and install
this system along with a Weathertightness Warranty, when applicable.
In 2004, Drexel continued to innovate and to prosper. Several
new sales and management personnel were added, and new warehouses
were opened in Clearwater, Florida, and Aurora, Colorado.
In January of 2005, Brian Partyka assumed the office of President
of Drexel Metals Corporation. Dick Carroll assumed the title
of CEO, and continues to play a very active role in the day
to day operation of the company.
Brian has been with Drexel in various capacities for twelve
years, most recently as Coil and Sheet Manager, but over the
years he has been directly involved in virtually every facet
of the business, from purchasing to inventory control to production
to traffic. Dick and Diane Carroll have extreme confidence
in Brian’s abilities, and have been grooming him for
years as part of their plan of succession in company ownership.
In addition to being a major contributor to Drexel sales,
Brian has also been very active within the metal roofing industry
in general. Brian is very well known and respected within
the industry, as a frequent contributor of technical articles
to trade magazines, as a speaker at trade shows and associations,
and as the inventor of the Drexmet® Paint Pen, a Kynar
touch- up product exclusively distributed by Drexel.
Drexel continues to grow and to embrace new products. Our
newest product is FalZinc®, a foldable aluminum sheet
metal with a zinc metallic coating. An innovative and dramatic
alternative to titanium or zinc- coated copper, FalZinc®
has a proven track record in Europe, but is now available
in North America exclusively through Drexel Metals Corporation.
