GOLD STANDARD WARRANTY

In 2012, Drexel Metals introduced our Gold Standard Warranty to our network of qualified installers. This industry-leading, limited warranty encompasses the total Drexel Metals system from the roof deck up and covers both materials and replacement labor costs if the installed Drexel Metals painted product were to fail during the warranty period. This limited warranty is transferable between owners for the period of the warranty and covers:

  • Labor
  • Adhesion
  • Chalk protection
  • Fade protection

 

WHAT THIS WARRANTY MEANS FOR THE ROOFING DECK

This anti-weathering limited warranty applies to flat sheets and coils from Drexel Metals that have been used by the fabricator within six months of invoicing. It warrants that the metal roofing system will resist natural weathering conditions to the manufacturers performance standards for 35 years, provided all conditions of warranty are met. It does not apply to the corrosion of the substrate. The limited warranty covers both vertical and non-vertical installations.

 

WHAT THIS WARRANTY MEANS FOR THE FINISHING COAT

The Gold Standard Warranty also covers the polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) finish. When installed as a part of a complete assembly, the PVDF coat is warranted to retain its film integrity for 35 years. This includes protection against cracking, peeling, flacking and general loss of adhesion.

It also includes chalk protection for vertical and non-vertical installations. The PVDF finish is guaranteed not to exceed 8 units for vertical installations and 6 units for non-vertical installations within the warranty period.

Finally, this limited warranty covers fading as measured in Hunter Units. These units measure the noticeable difference in color fading. One Hunter Unit is nearly unnoticeable. PVDF coated roofing substrates are guaranteed to fade no more than 5 Hunter Units for vertical and non-vertical installations. A change of 5 Hunter Units represents a noticeable but slight color fade.
