To help limit the visual appearance of oil canning, Drexel Metals recommends maximum panel lengths for FWQ panels: • Maximum Recommended Panel Lengths: 8′-0″ nominal for 24 gauge steel and .032″ aluminum; 20′-0″ nominal for 22 gauge steel and .040″ aluminum Maximum panel length 25′ Notice: Oil canning is a natural characteristic of metal panels and is not considered a defect or cause for rejection. An oil canning acknowledgment form is required when DMC FWQ100 panels are ordered beyond the recommended lengths.

Can be installed over a solid substrate with appropriate underlayment or in limited applications over framing sections. In a windscreen application, panels must be fastened (stitched) through side joints. Consult a local architect/engineer for requirements of local codes and conditions.
